Rama table notes

Casino Rama Resort, ranked for the table

You come to Casino Rama Resort with more caution than appetite, because the official site was not reachable on this pass. The usable dining picture comes through secondary sources: a major refurbishment, MATCH in the rotunda, Chow Lucky Noodle Bar, and Atlas at St. Germain’s replacing the old St. Germain’s name.

Our desk asks the hotel for a room and a dinner reservation and emails you; no card details. This kitchen desk lives on referrals: a booking made through our links, or a table-and-room arranged by the desk, earns a commission from the hotel or a booking partner. Restaurants pay nothing and the order of the list is not for sale.

Received. The desk will email you about the room and the table.

Where the food story stands

Casino Rama Resort sits at 5899 Rama Road in Rama, Ontario, on Chippewas of Rama First Nation land. The property’s own site was unreachable on 2026-10-23, so this profile is written with its gaps showing. You can still book a table-and-room at the hotel through the resort’s official site when it is available; restaurant reservations are made with the hotel, not here.

The dining list is led by Atlas Steak and Fish at St. Germain’s, described in secondary coverage as Gateway’s “signature steak and seafood restaurant” and the first Ontario location. It is a rebrand of St. Germain’s, named after late Rama First Nation chief George St. Germain. A 25 Nov 2025 brief said it would open “Thursday”; Wikipedia lists it as “Atlas at St. Germain’s.” That is enough to name it, but not enough to publish hours, menus or prices.

MATCH Eatery and Public House is the easier planning anchor. Secondary reporting says it opened in May 2025 and sits just inside the main rotunda, with a “modern pub-style dining experience.” Chow Lucky Noodle Bar opened in fall 2024 and is described by Gateway’s release as an Asian-inspired eatery with wok-fired favourites, soups and bowls. Cedar Restaurant is named only as the location of a hiring event in October 2024. Couchiching Court Buffet, The Weirs and Tim Hortons are listed on Wikipedia; their current status is unverified.

For the wider list, compare Rama against the restaurant matrix and then read how we score the table. Ontario’s casino entry age is 19+. The resort does not publish, in the pages we could reach, whether minors may enter any restaurant.

How to plan two nights

For a two-night stay, build the first night around Atlas if the hotel confirms it is taking reservations. It is the resort’s stated signature direction, and the St. Germain’s name carries the clearest dining identity in the Rama file. Because the opening note is secondary and the official site was blocked, ask the hotel to confirm the exact name, opening status, entrance and available reservation times before you commit the room.

On the second night, use MATCH. Its position just inside the main rotunda makes it the least speculative full-service choice in the file, and the May 2025 opening gives it a recent status note. If you are arriving late from Toronto or Orillia, do not assume MATCH, Chow Lucky, Tim Hortons or any other outlet is open late: no 24-hour food option is published in the facts we could verify.

Breakfast and brunch need the same discipline. The resort roster names Couchiching Court Buffet, but its current status is unverified and no brunch service is published on the fetched pages. If a buffet is part of your reason for booking, ask the hotel before you travel. The same applies to The Weirs and Tim Hortons: both are named, but not with current official hours on this pass.

Chow Lucky Noodle Bar is the practical second-line choice. Gateway described it as the newest addition in November 2024, and secondary notes say it opened in fall 2024 during the refurbishment push. Cedar Restaurant should be treated as named, not planned, unless the hotel confirms it is operating for guests. If you want a buffet-first trip, look at our brunch and buffets guide before choosing Rama over a more transparent buffet property.

Refurbishment and what changed

The Rama dining story is tied to renovation rather than a finished, fully published restaurant directory. Gateway announced a major refurbishment with OLG and Rama First Nation in November 2024: hotel room upgrades, an expanded spa and fitness centre, an updated gaming floor and common areas, and new dining including family-friendly options. Chow Lucky Noodle Bar was named as the newest addition in that release.

By May 2025, secondary coverage reported the grand opening of MATCH Eatery and Public House just inside the main rotunda. The same report said a new spa facility had been added on the ground floor, with saunas, steam rooms and the pool still located on the third floor. Hotel room renovations were beginning with the second level, and the casino floor had upgraded slot machines. The article also noted plans to open Atlas Steak and Seafood at the former St. Germain’s location.

A later trade recap repeated the same direction: Chow Lucky had opened “last fall,” MATCH had opened, Atlas Steak and Seafood was set to open, the spa was on the ground floor and room renovation was starting from the second level. Those are useful change markers, but they are not substitutes for a live official dining page.

That is why Rama scores well for ambition and less well for transparency. It is moving from older resort dining into Gateway’s Atlas and MATCH brands, but you need hotel confirmation for the exact operating roster. If certainty matters more than renovation upside, compare it with other Ontario profiles such as Caesars Windsor or Fallsview Casino Resort.

What is worth leaving for

The only named nearby food stops in the verified file are in Orillia: The Common Stove, described by the source as “one of the best restaurants in Orillia,” and Orillia Fairgrounds Farmers’ Market. Because the facts do not publish distances from the resort, drive times, opening days or market hours, treat both as planning leads rather than guaranteed same-night fixes.

Orillia itself is described by Destination Ontario as approximately two hours north of Toronto via Highway 400, but that is not a resort-to-restaurant measurement. The same restraint applies to wine, beer and farm stops. No official tourism source in the Rama file names wineries or breweries near the hotel, so this profile does not invent them. For named producers around other properties, use our guide to wine and beer nearby.

If you are sleeping at Rama for the table, ask for a dinner-first itinerary: Atlas on the stronger night, MATCH on the easier night, Chow Lucky held as a casual backup, and the buffet only if the hotel confirms Couchiching Court Buffet is open. If you need a guaranteed late-night outlet, this is not the strongest file. Our late-night eating guide shows where hours are published more clearly.

Verdict

Order it when

Book if you want to see the Rama refurbishment through its new dining names, especially Atlas at St. Germain’s, MATCH and Chow Lucky, and you are willing to have the hotel confirm every table before travel.

Send it back when

Think twice if you need a verified buffet, published brunch, a clear late-night plan or a complete official restaurant directory. Too much of the current file depends on secondary sources.

Promising refurbishment, weak published certainty.
