Casino hotel rules by province

Before you plan dinner, check the door. The ten hotels in our kitchen ranking sit under four provincial rule books, with different entry ages, regulators and help lines. This page keeps to the published provincial facts and the roster: which hotels are in Ontario, Québec, British Columbia and Alberta, and what liquor-service notes the resorts actually publish.

Our desk asks the hotel for a room and a dinner reservation and emails you; no card details. This kitchen desk lives on referrals: a booking made through our links, or a table-and-room arranged by the desk, earns a commission from the hotel or a booking partner. Restaurants pay nothing and the order of the list is not for sale.

Received. The desk will email you about the room and the table.
The form did not send; email [email protected].

How to read the province before you book dinner

A casino hotel is not one national category in Canada. Ontario, Québec, British Columbia and Alberta set different admission ages and use different public agencies, so the same two-night eating plan can feel different at the door. If you are travelling with a younger guest, do not assume a hotel restaurant is all-ages unless the resort says so. In our profiles, we say when a venue publishes that minors may enter; otherwise, the admission position is not published.

This page is the province-level companion to the ranking by kitchen and how we score the table. The ranking is about restaurants, bars, breakfast, brunch, buffets, late-night food, nearby eating and transparency. This guide is narrower: entry age, regulator, help line, the hotels in each province and liquor-service notes only where the resort publishes them.

For restaurant-by-restaurant status, use the restaurant matrix. For booking help, start with all ten and then ask for the dates, room and dinner reservation you want. Restaurant reservations are made with the hotel, not here.

Ontario: five hotels, age 19

Ontario has the largest group in this list: Fallsview Casino Resort, Caesars Windsor, Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa and Casino Rama Resort. The entry age is 19. The province-level regulator in FACTS is the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation as the provincial corporation.

The help line listed for Ontario is ConnexOntario, 1-866-531-2600. FACTS also say ConnexOntario runs 24/7, 365 days of the year, and that you may text CONNEX to 247247. The provincial self-exclusion programme named in FACTS is OLG My PlayBreak.

For liquor service, use property-level notes. Fallsview publishes that alcohol is served 11:00 AM–1:50 AM daily at all resort restaurants, with non-alcoholic beverages available 24 hours; it also publishes Infinity Bar alcohol service from 9:00 AM–1:50 AM daily. Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto publishes age notes by venue: Copperhorn and The Casual are 19+ to dine, while Lobster Legend and Lobby Bar Grab & Go are listed as all ages. For the other Ontario hotels, do not infer liquor hours from the province; the specific liquor-service note is not published in the FACTS for this guide.

Québec: Lac-Leamy, age 18

Québec appears here because Hilton Lac-Leamy and Casino du Lac-Leamy sit in Gatineau, across the river from Ottawa. Do not apply Ontario’s 19+ rule to it. FACTS give the Québec entry age as 18, with the casino page saying guests must be 18 or older to be admitted to the casino and its restaurant. Anyone appearing under 25 may be asked for government-issued photo ID.

The operator named in FACTS is Loto-Québec, through Société des casinos du Québec. The regulator entry is less clean: FACTS identify the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux by search-result snippets, but mark it medium confidence because the RACJ site redirected to a maintenance notice. The responsible-gambling help line is verified in the later province block: Gambling: Help and Referral, 1-800-461-0140, with the Montréal-area number 514-527-0140. FACTS describe it as 24/7, free and confidential.

Liquor-service detail is mostly venue-specific rather than province-wide. Lac-Leamy publishes bar and restaurant hours: Bacchus bar in the Hilton runs Sunday–Thursday 4 p.m.–midnight and Friday–Saturday 4 p.m.–1 a.m.; Aléa nightclub parties run from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. FACTS also mark Banco Bistro and Bacchus bar as 18+. For restaurant choices and gaps, keep the hotel profile open beside this page.

British Columbia and Alberta: two west-coast rules, two prairie rules

British Columbia has two hotels in the ten: River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond and Cascades Casino Resort Langley. The entry age is 19. FACTS name the Independent Gambling Control Office as the regulator, launched 2026-04-13, replacing the former Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch under the new Gaming Control Act. The BC Lottery Corporation manages commercial gambling. Gambling Support BC is the help line, 1-888-795-6111, described as free, 24/7 and confidential.

BC also has the clearest door note in FACTS: all visitors are required to present ID to security staff, originals only, and ID is scanned against the Game Break database. Liquor details again sit at the hotel level. River Rock publishes that guests must be 19 or older to order and consume alcohol at Privé Bar. Cascades publishes Glacier Bar & Lounge daily from 11am to 2am, and Match Eatery & Public House to 2am on Friday and Saturday.

Alberta has Grey Eagle Resort & Casino and River Cree Resort & Casino. The entry age is 18. FACTS name AGLC as the regulator, with Alberta iGaming Corporation separate for online gaming as of 2026. The gambling-specific GameSense Info Line is 1-833-447-7523; FACTS also list the Alberta Health Services Primary Care Addiction and Mental Health Help Line, 1-866-332-2322, as 24/7 and explicitly covering problem gambling. Liquor-service hours are not published in the FACTS for these two hotel profiles, so we do not supply them.
