Richmond table plan
River Rock Casino Resort, ranked for the table
You come to River Rock Casino Resort for a tight Richmond eating plan: a steakhouse with a national first claim, Japanese sushi at KOI, Cantonese cooking at Sea Harbour, a working buffet, early coffee, and a noodle house that carries you close to last call. The catch is status: MIKU is still printed by the resort, while secondary reporting says the brand left.

Why it scores strongly for food
River Rock sits high in the ranking by kitchen because the resort publishes a broad dining roster with hours, and because those hours let you build a two-night stay without guessing. The property lists Gordon Ramsay Steak, KOI, Sea Harbour, Chopsticks Noodlehouse, Zio’s, Rock House Burger & Fries, Privé Bar, Starbucks, The Chairman’s Room Lounge & Buffet and MIKU. Great Canadian’s June 16, 2026 release counts “10 food and beverage venues” and a full-service spa.
The strongest booking reason is range. Gordon Ramsay Steak is the signature restaurant, published as “THE FIRST IN CANADA” and “his signature steakhouse.” KOI is open for lunch and dinner except Tuesdays. Sea Harbour covers Cantonese dining, dim sum and seafood. Chopsticks Noodlehouse runs from 7:00AM to 3:00AM, which matters after a show or a late arrival. The Chairman’s Room handles both lounge service and buffet service, including Sunday brunch.
British Columbia’s casino entry age is 19+. River Rock also publishes 19+ to check in. The resort does not publish, in the facts we have, whether minors may enter each restaurant, so you should not assume family access unless the hotel confirms it when you reserve. If you want the full national context, compare River Rock with Cascades Casino Resort Langley and the other nine properties in the restaurant matrix.
The named restaurants, with status
Start with status, not appetite. Gordon Ramsay Steak is open, with resort-published hours from 5PM daily: Sun–Thu to 9:30PM and Fri–Sat to 10:30PM. The resort’s own cuisine language names dry-aged steaks, Beef Wellington and “THE FIRST IN CANADA.” That gives River Rock a clearer steakhouse story than most casino hotels, and it also puts it in our guide to the steakhouses.
KOI is open, with lunch 11:30AM–3PM and dinner 5PM–10PM, closed Tuesdays. The official site gives no cuisine text in one fact set; another resort fact set calls it premium sushi/Japanese. Sea Harbour is open from 10AM–3PM and 5PM–10PM, with the resort description “An authentic, award-winning Chinese dining experience, with exquisite dim sum and all of your favourite seafood dishes.”
Chopsticks Noodlehouse is the practical hinge: soup, rice and noodle dishes in one fact set, and menu sections including “SOUP NOODLE,” “WOK DELICIOUS,” “FEATURES,” “SUSHI ROLLS” and “SUSHI SPECIALITIES” in another. Zio’s and Rock House Burger & Fries open at 8AM, while Starbucks opens at 6AM. The Chairman’s Room Lounge & Buffet opens at 7AM. MIKU needs care: it is still listed in the official home-page hours block, Monday–Sunday 5PM–10PM, with no link, but secondary reporting says Aburi ceased involvement on or about May 15, 2026 and the space was being converted to KOI.
Buffet, brunch and breakfast
River Rock is one of the easier hotels in this set for breakfast planning because it publishes several morning openings. Starbucks opens at 6AM. The Chairman’s Room Lounge opens at 7AM and lists lounge à la carte, including breakfast 7AM–11:30AM in the facts. Chopsticks Noodlehouse opens at 7AM. Zio’s and Rock House Burger & Fries open at 8AM. Sea Harbour lists Breakfast & Lunch from 10:00AM–3:00PM.
The buffet is also published, though one internal wording conflict matters. The Chairman’s Room Lounge & Buffet is open as a lounge Sun–Thu 7:00AM–10:00PM and Fri–Sat 7:00AM–11:00PM. Buffet hours are listed as Mon–Fri dinner 4–9PM, Saturday lunch 9–3 and dinner 4–9PM, and Sunday brunch 9–3 and dinner 4–9PM. A separate intro says buffet Fri–Sun, so you should confirm the day you want before building the room around it.
The resort publishes “The Grand Weekend Dinner Buffet” as Friday–Sunday, 4PM–9PM, with adult, senior and child prices in the facts, and also an ongoing “$24.99 Weekday Buffet” promotion. Because buffet promotions change, treat those as dated resort-published details rather than permanent value promises. For a cross-hotel view, use our guide to brunch and buffets.
Bars, lounges and late-night eating
River Rock’s bar list is useful, but not unlimited. Privé Bar publishes small plates, wine, beer and cocktails. The home page says “OPEN DAILY | 11AM – 2AM,” while the small-plates hours read Sunday to Thursday 4PM–10PM and Friday to Saturday 4PM–12AM. That conflict is the kind of detail you want settled before you arrive, especially if the bar is your after-dinner plan.
The Chairman’s Room Lounge publishes Social Hour Monday to Friday, 2PM to 5PM and 8PM to close, and Saturdays and Sundays all day. Gordon Ramsay Steak Lounge had resort-published live music on Saturdays in October 2026, 6PM–9PM. A 2024 plan also named a new Privé Lounge with a dedicated bar on the gaming floor.
Late-night food is better than average here, but it is not 24-hour dining. A provincial tourism listing calls the casino 24-hour, yet the resort does not publish a 24-hour restaurant. The latest food outlet in the facts is Chopsticks Noodlehouse to 3:00AM. Privé Bar runs to 2AM in the home-page line, though small plates end earlier. Zio’s and Rock House Burger & Fries run to midnight on Friday and Saturday. For hotels where the overnight plan is the main question, see late-night eating.
How to plan two nights
For night one, anchor the trip with Gordon Ramsay Steak. It opens from 5PM, so you can take an early table if you are arriving by Canada Line or from the airport. The resort says Vancouver International Airport is “just a quick 7 minute ride” by Canada Line, and downtown Vancouver is “only 18 minutes away,” both with the train at the resort’s doorstep. Book direct with the hotel for the room and restaurant: book a table-and-room at the hotel.
On the second day, use Sea Harbour for the 10AM–3PM breakfast-and-lunch window if dim sum is the plan, or use The Chairman’s Room Lounge if you want the resort-published breakfast hours. Build dinner around KOI, unless your stay falls on a Tuesday, when KOI is closed. If it is a Tuesday, shift KOI to night one or use Sea Harbour, The Chairman’s Room Buffet or Chopsticks Noodlehouse.
For late-night, do not count on room-service-style coverage; the facts do not publish it. Count on Chopsticks Noodlehouse to 3:00AM, with Privé Bar to 2AM as a drinks plan and with small-plates hours confirmed directly. Nearby food is thin in official tourism facts for this profile. Tourism Richmond lists Night Market and Steveston Village under things to do, but the Richmond Night Market closed permanently after its final season in September 2026. Steveston is worth leaving the building for as a place, not as a named restaurant recommendation from the facts.
Transparency notes before you book
The main caution is MIKU. River Rock’s official home-page hours block still lists MIKU Monday–Sunday 5PM–10PM, but secondary reporting says Aburi ceased involvement in the location on or about May 15, 2026, and that the former MIKU space was to become KOI. We therefore treat MIKU as a conflict, not as a clean open restaurant. KOI is the restaurant to ask the hotel about now.
There are also hour conflicts at The Chairman’s Room Buffet and Privé Bar. The buffet’s detailed schedule covers weekday dinner, Saturday lunch, Sunday brunch and weekend dinners, while intro wording says buffet Fri–Sun. Privé Bar has one line saying open daily 11AM–2AM and another line that limits small plates to later afternoon and evening. Those conflicts do not make the venues unusable; they simply make confirmation part of the reservation.
Rooms are published as “nearly 400 rooms,” with Hotel Tower rooms and Casino Tower suites connected by the Sky Bridge. The property changed ownership on June 16, 2026, when Great Canadian Entertainment completed the sale to a partnership of Petroglyph Development Group and Musqueam Capital Corp. The official site still shows River Rock branding and Encore Rewards. For our scoring framework, see how we score the table.
Verdict
Order it when
Book River Rock if you want the strongest British Columbia casino-hotel dining roster in this set: a named steakhouse anchor, KOI, Sea Harbour, a real buffet, early coffee and a noodle house open to 3:00AM.
Send it back when
Think twice if your trip depends on MIKU, a confirmed 24-hour restaurant, or a specific buffet session. The official pages need confirmation because MIKU conflicts with secondary reporting and some hours disagree.
Best for a two-night Richmond stay built around steak, sushi, Cantonese dining and buffet.
